The Furniture Project was a participatory installation which took place as part of Art Night Schenectady. It was inspired by a desire to entice people back to my studio in the 440 Working Gallery/Studio and back to Art Night Schenectady. The spontaneity with which I decided to do the project a week before the event seemed to be the same spontaneity that lured participants. People who came to the studio were asked to write on a piece of paper what they would be if they were furniture. They then sat in the orange chair to have their photograph taken holding their paper (furniture). That photograph was projected on a canvas on the wall in a continuous stream with everyones photo. Participants continued to return throughout the night to show friends their photo and check out the new additions.
